STAFF ACCOUNTANT

In support of the Access Mission, Strategic Commitments, and Values we are looking to fill the following position: Staff Accountant: (full-time, 35 hours per week) Entry level position: provides accounting support to major financial accounting areas including general ledger, financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgets, grants & contracts, account reconciliation internal controls and compliance programs. Maintains and balances an automated consolidate system by inputting data; scheduling for required jobs; analyzing data. Assists preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information for the general ledger system and from departments. Provide timely and accurate payment processing by processing accounts payable checks semi-weekly. Responsible for daily receipt application, cash management, debit/credit memo creation with extensive data entry into accounting system. Assists in creating annual operating and grant budgets. Maintains grants and/or contract information in the accounting system. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Top 15% of accounting class if no experience; basic knowledge of Excel and Word; can work independently and as part of a team and with diverse groups. Prefer: Minimum of two years experience; knowledge of grant and fund accounting; intermediate Excel, Word & Access skills. Real plus is knowledge of AccuFund software. Communicate effectively in both the written and spoken word. (*Significant work experience may be substituted for education credentials.)
