Assistant Treasurer

TOWN OF CHARLESTOWN ASSISTANT TREASURER This position reports to the Town Treasurer and is responsible for processing the Town's bi-weekly payroll and other payroll functions. Other duties include enrollments for employee benefits and tracking of time such as vacation, personal and sick days. Confidentiality is a necessity for this position. This position requires a basic understanding of accounting practices and principles as well as software and a working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2 years of experience in Government Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is helpful.
