CNC Service Technician

Leipold, Inc. is a precision turning company, located in Windsor, CT since 1998. We service the automotive, electrical engineering, mechanical, telecommunications, medical, industrial and aviation industries, and readily providing engineering input, Leipold services customers worldwide. Leipold offers the best of both worlds with local manufacturing here in the U.S. with support and global quality and technology. We have recently added an additional 20,000 square feet to our production area which provides Process Cooling to our CNC Lathe machines and an air conditioned environment for our machinists. Due to this expansion we looking for a qualified CNC Service Technician to join our family.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair of production equipment especially CNC automatic lathe, performing both electrical and mechanical work

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure proper operation of the equipment

  • Install new equipment and replace parts on production equipment

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs to building and building equipment

  • Document performed work in maintenance management system

  • Identify needed spare parts and supplies depending on inventory level

    Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of CNC machines and other production equipment

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics

  • Use of measuring and testing instruments such as multimeter, indicators and gauges

  • Experience in working with Fanuc, Siemens, and/or Mitsubishi controls

  • Knowledge of INDEX/Traub, Star and/or Tsugami CNC machines is a plus

  • Basic knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is a plus

  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
