Coach Bus Driver

Position Summary

The Coach Bus Driving position is responsible for driving the Bridgewater commuter buses to and from the city in the morning and in the afternoon. The position requires driving vehicles between the company’s separate facilities as well as to other repair/service locations as needed. In addition to the driving responsibilities, this position will require office work such as filing of records, compiling metrics and overseeing simple processes and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities would include:
 
  • Driving the Bridgewater commuter bus to and from New York City and Westport
  • Driving to and from company events on a case-by-case basis along with driving to facilities and other locales that may be necessary to house and/or maintain the bus
  • Excellent customer service including the ability to provide for a safe, comfortable and punctual service to customers
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of all vehicles including restocking of food and beverage services
  • Updating and maintaining driver logs and diesel logs
  • Operating according to DOT regulations
  • Working with the Transportation Administrative Assistant as needed on projects such as gathering metrics/data

Hours:

  •  All hours are subject to change based on what is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities described above. It is expected that this position will fulfill a 40 hour business week, with driving hours rotated with office hours.  A driving shift may start at 5:00 a.m. and may end at 9:30 p.m. with a break during the day.  

Position Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Maintaining an active and up-to-date CDL (Class B or C) driver’s license, along with air brake and passenger endorsements that qualifies him/her for driving the different company vehicles 
  • At least 2 years previous experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Punctual and trustworthy
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Strong customer service focus with great attention to detail
  • Flexible and willing to work different shifts (evenings and weekends), if needed
  • Considering the safety of the people in the vehicle, we think it is prudent to subject the Chauffeur to periodic drug and alcohol testing and may be randomly selected to take a medical physical.  In addition, the Chauffeur will be required to pass a drug and alcohol test and medical physical before employment commences.
