Office Administrative Assistant

Connecticut based agency has a part time opening in their Torrington office for an Office Administrative Assistant. You will provide administrative support to the Director as well as handle general receptionist duties. The Office Assistant is the first point of contact for this organization.

$14 per hour, 20 hours per week, contract to hire

This Director requires an Office Assistant who enjoys working with the public and can greet visitors with a smile on their face at all times. You will need to have good computer skills and be well-versed working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The ability to learn to use other programs with ease is also a necessity. Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills will be needed.

Additional requirements include:


  • At least 1 year office administrative / receptionist experience
  • HS Diploma or GED

As the Office Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:


  • Greeting visitors arriving to the office
  • Answering and directing calls
  • Preparing for meetings including booking conference room, ordering and setting up food and supplies
  • Making travel arrangements
  • Taking meeting notes
  • Preparing reports
  • Filing, copying, faxing
  • Preparing correspondence and mailings
  • Organizing and maintaining the office
  • Ability to travel using personal vehicle within the state of Connecticut upon hire
