Mechanical Engineer

Dymax Corporation, a leader in the Acrylic Adhesive and UV Curing Industry, is seeking a highly motivated, team orientated individual to join our Sustaining Engineering department as a Mechanical Engineer.
 
We currently have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer which leads the Sustaining Engineering Team in the processing of Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to the completion of the Engineering Change Order (ECO). Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Developmental Engineering, Document Control, Quality, and Operations to evaluate the change requested and prioritize processing. Through engineering analysis, develops a plan to implement the change ensuring product specifications and quality requirements are satisfied. 
 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the ECR process by leveraging the collective strengths of the Sustaining Engineering Team.
  • Analyze the change request and develop actions, and prioritize to implement. 
  • Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Modify existing engineering and assembly drawings to support the change and new revision level and communicate those changes to document control
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Produce original engineering documents to support “one off” requests from our sales and marketing teams.
  • Analyze and solve technical problems. Provide solutions that can be implemented in a timely manner.
  • Analyze field failures, resolving technical related issues involving Dymax products.
  • Ensure that changes to products comply with regulatory standards.   
  • Interact with manufacturing and quality to aid in sustaining efforts surrounding curing, dispense and filling product lines.
  • Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Work closely with peer review board to discuss changes
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS
  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience, preferably in an industry dealing with the manufacturing and assembly of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working with Solid Works and Auto CAD software.
  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion of the ECO.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation to work in concert with team members to meet deliverables on time
  • Strong analytical skills with solid engineering fundamentals.
