Global Quality Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Dymax Quality Department. Proactively drive continuous improvement activities to achieve efficiency, quality and cost reduction. Coordinate efforts with foreign affiliates to guarantee robust, effective communication. Ensure all customer complaints are resolved in a timely and complete fashion. Manage the corporate Quality Management System to ensure compliance with all applicable standards. Must show desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Line Quality Control:

  • Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods for all three product lines; Adhesives, Equipment, and Oligomers. 
  • Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree to comprehensive quality procedures. 
  • Drive best practices and coordinate efforts with foreign affiliates. 
  • Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC. 
  • Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved. 
  • Manage the technical staff in carrying out tests and checks. 


Quality Engineering:

  • Lead the team to proactively drive improvements in the quality, stability, and consistency of Dymax products and processes. 
  • Manage the investigation of new processes, methods, innovations and testing techniques to continuously improve process quality and production efficiencies. 
  • Champion data driven decisions to achieve cost reduction, problem solutions and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools. 
  • Specify, support and troubleshoot necessary tooling, fixtures, equipment, documentation and related training as required to maintain plant production and testing operations. 
  •  Review and evaluate new product designs and major product changes for feasibility and impact to processes, tooling, testing and quality. 

Quality Management Systems:

  • Manage the team to develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to ensure the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies are compliant with quality system requirements. 
  • Ensure best practices are established and shared on a global basis. Coordinated with European and Asian entities to ensure ISO systems are established and maintained. 
  • Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications. 
  • Organize and manage quality assurance function in close co-operation with the customers and with the Company’s Senior Management Team. 
  • Adhere to safe working conditions and strictly enforce Dymax safety policies and procedures. 
  • Performs other duties as specified

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering or relevant field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant managerial experience in Experience in a process improvement role in the chemical manufacturing field.
  • ASQ Certified and Six Sigma training preferred.
  • 5 years auditing experience in Quality Management Systems.
  • Analytical problem solving skills such as 5 why, Fishbone, and 8D methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-starter with ability to work on multiple initiatives at the same time; excellent project management skills.
  • Forensic skills and attention to detail when crafting operations and processes. Ability to foresee and fix process gaps.
  • Skilled in creating quality assurance processes that accurately audit performance and inform future trainings.
  • Proven ability to work with internal and external international partners in a positive, productive way that encourages collaboration.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills. Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with proven track record of driving results.
