Performs skilled and unskilled manual work in general maintenance activities, work frequently involves heavy lifting and strenuous tasks and is usually performed out-of-doors involving exposure to varying climatic conditions. Cuts grass, maintains planting beds, trims shrubbery and ornamentals, repairs swings and other equipment, shovels and plows snow and performs other maintenance duties as assigned. Must have valid motor vehicle license, Class B CDL a plus. TRANSFER STATION Attendant 40 hours per week, $23.91 per hour Tuesday thru Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performs various Transfer Station duties, including the checking and directing of residents and trailers, collecting monies, piling and crushing of waste and recycling materials, operating and maintaining the hopper, trailer truck and loader along with other duties as assigned. Work frequently involves heavy lifting and strenuous tasks and is performed out-of-doors involving exposure to varying climatic conditions. Performs other maintenance duties as assigned. Must be DEEP certified (or pass certification within 3 months) as a CT Transfer Station Operator and possess a valid motor vehicle license, minimum Class A CDL. UTILITY LABORER AT PUBLIC WORKS - 40 hours per week, $26.72 per hour. Performs manual work in general maintenance activities in the Highway Department as assigned. Work frequently involves heavy lifting and strenuous tasks and is usually performed out-of-doors involving exposure to varying climatic conditions. May be required to drive light equipment, shovel and plow snow, cut brush, assist in road digging and patching and performs other maintenance duties as assigned. Must have valid motor vehicle license, Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement (Class A CDL or CT licensed Arborist a plus).
