Compounding Plastic Extruder Operator Cable Components Group, is a growing manufacturer of compounded and extruded plastics in Pawcatuck, CT. We are seeking an operator who is a self-starter with high work ethnic to help aggressively grow our newly formed compounding department. Responsibilities and objectives for operating compounding equipment include: Operate a variety of mixing/blending equipment across plant floor as needed. Read, understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Observe and read instruments, gauges and dials to determine operating conditions. Monitor control panels and make required adjustments in accordance with written machine and processing parameters and verbal instructions. Operate hoists, power and non-power hand tools. Inspect, examine and observe for product and equipment defects. Accurately complete all paperwork and data entry to support job tasks. Maintain an accurate inventory through activities such as: proper reporting of material usage, minimizing wastes, and ensuring that measuring devices are properly calibrated. Leads changeover, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities related to process and compounding area. Conducts quality testing on product during production or developmental runs. CCG is driven by continuous process improvement and LEAN manufacturing. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years' experience with polymer processing in manufacturing environment, polymer compounding is ideal Exhibit ownership, accountability and strong attention to detail. Ability to lift 55 lbs. as needed Ability to work independently, solve problems, make decisions, and drive effective solutions.
