Director of Environmental Services

Notre Dame Convalescent Homes, Inc., (dba) Notre Dame Health and Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing/short term rehab facility in Norwalk, CT seeking a full-time (40 hour) Director of Environmental Services.

The candidate must possess strong leadership skills and have experience managing maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff members.

Responsible for managing an on-line personnel staff scheduling system and human resource platform for our Environmental Service department.

The position requires working a flexible schedule and some weekends.

Responsibilities include
Knowledge of HVAC units, generators, boilers, etc., experience with the procurement of vendor contracts, proven knowledge of repairing/maintenance of equipment and furnishings common to a health care facility, experience with managing supplies/distributions and customer service.

Also required is a strong knowledge of maintenance computer software and an aptitude for technology. (NDCH) has recently instituted a maintenance care system to manage work flow within the facility.

The Director of Environmental Services would be responsible for fully implementing this system throughout the facility.

The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, some college is required, a college degree is preferred. Driving is a requirement of the job, thus a CT state driver s license is necessary.
