Maintenance Mechanic

Facility Overview:

• Founded in 1972, Custom Metal Crafters, Inc. manufactures and distributes metal fasteners and ornaments worldwide for a variety of industries, mostly to other manufacturers. The primary method of manufacturing is zinc die-casting.

Position Overview:

• The maintenance mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service. Also assists in maintaining the building and facilities.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of zinc die cast production and deburring equipment.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and maintains a safe and clean working environment.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Possess own tools.

Safety Responsibilities:

• Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint.  Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Personal protection equipment is provided.
   

Physical Requirements and Environment:

• Needs to be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing most of the day.
• Exposure to loud noises, fumes or airborne particles, molten zinc, moving mechanical parts and vibration. All personal protection items will be provided.

Education and Experience:

• A High School or Trade School Diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial Maintenance experience required.
