Self-Insured Taft Hartley Fund located New Haven County is looking for a Senior Claims Analyst. This position will provide overall support for claims processing for seven Health Services offices.   

Responsibilities/Functions:

This Fund currently administers four active and one Retiree Plan of Benefits. Understanding and applying the Summary Plan Description (SPD) is a must for this position.

-Applying medical knowledge and common sense in interpreting the SPD to determine if services are covered under the Plan is part of the day to day work flow.

-Experience in claims processing, medical/dental terminology, medical/dental billing and coding are required for this position.

-Review of medical documents for claim determinationpurposes.

-Analyzing claims data for internal as well as external reporting.

-Monitoring and tracking claims received, processed and claim backlogs.

-Customer service, interpersonal and presentation skills a plus.

-Work closely with Fund Consultants and vendors.

-Provide ongoing updates and training to all processors.

Requirements:

10 - 15+ years experience in the Medical/Dental field

High level of self-motivation, productivity and attention to detail, be well organized

Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
