Office Assistant / Bookkeeper

Exciting Office Assistant / Bookkeeper opportunity available right in the Middletown area! This position is flexible to be either part-time or full-time hours and will be a diverse mix of office and accounting duties.

Your day to day responsibilities will include the following

  • Auditing cash deposits
  • Coding invoices
  • Preparing and entering accounts payable, journal entries and adjustments
  • Preparing trial balance and financial reports. Checking for accuracy and adjusting
  • Printing accounts payable checks weekly
  • Answering phones
  • Processing mail
  • Keeping supplies stocked – ordering more as needed
  • Maintaining monthly billing system
  • Collecting bad checks
  • Generating weekly and promotional mailings
  • Other tasks as need

The following experience will make you a good match for this office assistant / bookkeeper opportunity

  • 3+ years accounting / bookkeeping experience
  • Prior experience doing accounts payable
  • 2+ years performing general office duties
  • Comfortable interacting with customers both over the phone and in person
  • Experience using a multi-line phone system
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
