RECOVERY ASSISTANT

RECOVERY ASSISTANTS NEEDED - IMMEDIATE OPENINGS IN MIDDLETOWN AREA!  Teach, train and provide supervision of consumer with life goals. Services designed and delivered on an individual basis to improve consumer's (a person with an ABI - acquired brain injury) ability to live independently in the community, as well as carry out strategies developed in cognitive/behavioral Programs.

  • Teach, train and provide supervision of consumer with life goals.
  • Assisting with communication device usage, including telephone usage, computer etc... where applicable
  • Providing supervision with activities of daily living, including verbal cueing and supervision of bathing, dressing, eating, transfers and mobility, and toileting
  • Providing all required documentation in accordance with the clients individualized plan
  • Providing supervision with meal planning, preparation and shopping
  • Assisting with socialization and interpersonal skills in public, private and work settings, including but not limited to verbal cueing and supervision of setting boundaries, behavior in both public and private settings
  • Providing supervision with sensory stimulation and motor skills
  • Assisting with medication management, medical appointments and reporting the results to immediate supervisor and team
  • Provide Companions with training on consumer’s protocols providing feedback to Program Manager.
  • Assisting with task completion, problem solving and money management
  • Providing supervision with or providing transportation
  • Providing supervision with household management, including verbal cueing, supervision and assisting with light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, general cleaning, sorting, and any other household chores that are deemed necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Providing supervision with the care of family pets if applicable
  • Assisting with safety and emergency responses
  • Respecting the rights of the client and maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid Connecticut Driver’s license and reliable transportation
