ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER TOWN OF MANSFIELD Do you like helping people and companion animals? If so, we may have the part-time job for you. We're seeking two responsible individuals for the position of part-time Assistant Animal Control Officer. Duties include enforcing state statutes and town ordinances; impounding unlicensed and roaming dogs; caring for dogs and cats housed at the Animal Shelter; and preparing our annual canine survey. Ability to work independently, good organizational and communications skills essential. Each of the two positions is scheduled for 15regular hours per week and being on call 2 evenings per week (in order to respond to emergency calls). Salary range $18.78-$23.76/hr. Must be available days, evenings, weekends and holidays and be willing to respond to emergency calls for service when needed. In order to provide a timely response to emergency calls for service, candidates should reside within 30 minutes of the Animal Shelter, or be willing to do so within the first six months of employment. Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, valid Connecticut driver's license, and some related experience in animal care or code enforcement required.
