Access Services Coordinator - Library

Work Schedule: Work schedule: 40 hours weekly, including one evening
a week (usually 4 hours) with participation in one weekend day
in rotation (approximately one per month for 4–5 hours); balance of
scheduling will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Library Services Desk is the first point of contact with our patrons, and the Access Services Coordinator oversees circulation, reserves, interlibrary loan, periodicals, and collection maintenance from this location. The desk is lively, and the library building houses both the Library and Information Technology Services (ITS), as well as classrooms and meeting rooms. No two days are the same, and every day is focused on providing excellent service helping unite patrons with library materials and services. This position requires flexibility, a joy of learning, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversees the day-to-day functioning of circulation and reserve operations, including management of Koha ILS circulation module, holds, notices, and patron records.

Interacts with library patrons, including students, faculty, staff, and community members, and honors their privacy.

Manages interlibrary loan services and periodical subscriptions, and coordinates with School mailroom.

Responsible for collection maintenance, including shelving, shelf-reading, weeding, shifting, signage, and collection assessment.

Assists in the development of library Web pages and tools, including LibGuides

Maintains usage statistics and shares them with relevant departments.

Schedules and staffs main desk, and assists library users with questions and requests.

Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Assistant Library Director.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
-
2–4 years experience in a public, private, or school library or experience with high school students strongly preferred.

Experience in customer service strongly preferred
