Billing & Collections Supervisor

Summary:  This position will provide oversight and direct supervision of processes and staff handling invoicing, collection of receivable and reconciliation of customer accounts.  Effectively communicate with clients, agencies, staff and management to ensure issues are escalated and addressed in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervision of billing and payment processing
    1. Ensure compliance with State requirements, company’s policies, procedures, and quality directives.
    2. Ensure timely and accurate billing of all invoices

2.     Supervise Collections staff and interface with clients to resolve issues surrounding payment of invoices, as needed. Escalate when appropriate to senior management

3.     Supervise, train, coach, support and develop subordinate staff.

  1. Supervise day-to-day work flow of the Billing group
  2. Observe, evaluate and provide feedback for direct reports
  3. Provide useful coaching, training, and development to direct reports
  4. Provide professional disciplinary actions, documenting results as directed, escalating issues as needed to senior management
  5. Perform staff evaluations per company policy and according to established deadlines

4.     Perform special projects, as needed

5.     Communicate effectively; produce timely and accurate reports as directed, escalate urgent issues per established processes and ensure resolution

6.    Be proficient in key programs (Scheduling system, Timekeeping systems, MS Office)

7.    Utilization of Metrics to improve performance

8.    Support of internal and external auditors

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years or more Supervisory experience
  • Finance degree, or appropriate equivalent experience
  • Billing experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Project management experience

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see, hear, sit, stand, and reach in typical office setting. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
