IT Sr Systems/Network Administrator

Hillandale Farms is recruiting for the following two locations Bozrah, CT and Gettysburg, PA

Job Summary

Our Company is seeking a talented Senior Systems/Network Administrator to join our team and assist in the continuing development of our systems and infrastructure.  This unique position will perform network, systems, user and database management responsibilities within our IT organization.  Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will have strong inter-personal and communication skills, exceptional technical acuity, excellent problem solving skills, and strong individual initiative.  Must be resourceful and a creative thinker, confident and able to express ideas in an articulate, well thought manner.  Ability to multi-task effectively is a must.  This position will help our small IT department provide higher level of support for our internal customers and IT systems.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage and complete project oriented work as a participant or leader
  • Research, recommend, implement, support best of breed IT systems for the enterprise
  • Database Administration, SQL 2012. backup, restore, integrity, security, replication, redundancy,      monitoring, optimizing, scripting, stored procedures
  • Manage, Support multiple environments for  production systems and test/development,  migrate changes of database/applications from test to production
  • Maintain and suggest enhancements to the technology infrastructure that supports business operations (hardware, networks, operating systems, applications, and telecommunications)
  • Support physical and virtual servers, SAN, backups across multiple locations
  • Support Network Infrastructure: LAN, WiFi, WAN, VPN, iSCSI, SAN, Firewall, Switch, AP, Router, VoIP Phone System
  • Support business applications, work flow, and end user systems
  • Work with IT vendors to help support the organizations needs

 

Activity and Knowledge Requirements

Knowledge Requirements:  Education, Experience, Certifications, etc

  • BS degree in related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in Information Technology researching, configuring, deploying, and maintaining hardware and software solutions over a LAN/WAN infrastructure for an enterprise
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008/2012 R2
  • Solid understanding of MS Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows security permissions, Citrix XenApp Server, Vmware/VSphere, Acronis, MS SQL
  • Solid TCP/IP, VoIP, VPN, MPLS, Routing knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Motorola, Cisco, and Dell command line experience preferred
  • Ability to follow up when resolving an issue to a customer’s satisfaction 
  • Database administration experience with MS SQL, (2012 R2 preferred)
  • ERP, Workflow Automation, Inventory Scanning, EDI support experience preferred
  • Understands business needs and technical requirements to effectively communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

 

Physical Effort: Lifting, dexterity, coordination, mobility, etc.

  • Ability to lift 70 pounds,  walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and repetitive motion
  • Some work on systems in warehouses, coolers, and processing environments

 

Work Environment: Extended Hours, shift, noise, etc

  • Travel approx. 30% to various work locations, 10+ Northeast locations. 10% Extended hours including weekend work as needed

 

Mental Effort: Concentration, memory, decision making, etc.

  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to identify tasks and resolve issues to the customers satisfaction.
  • Must have excellent multitasking abilities and be able to self-motivate and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, and know how to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently 

 

Communication: Verbal, nonverbal, written

  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and business customers.
  • Strong follow up  and customer service skills
