Sterling Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Industries, is in need of an energetic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and programming department. Sterling Engineering is located in Northwestern Connecticut and specializes in the machining of complex components for the aerospace and power generation industries. Specific Job Responsibilities

• Enhance processes and procedures in the current engineering function and create new processes and procedures to increase efficiency
• Leads and manages an engineering department including planning and CNC programming, designers, process documentation, and estimating.
• Improve employee productivity through cross-training and multi-tasking
• Responsible for leading Lean manufacturing improvements and implementations
• Provide technical support to the production team, engaging engineering when necessary
• Support and drive team building initiatives
• Works with other members of management to improve the overall operation, quality, and service levels provided to customers.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Would prefer a BS Degree, but open to extensive experience.
• You must have previous hands-on machining experience with turning and milling large components. 
• Demonstrated leadership performance in a similar management role
• Energetic and approachable
• Strong project management, problem identification, and problem solving skills.
  Ability to handle multiple challenges simultaneously
• Lean / CI experience
