The Town of Mansfield is looking to fill a full-time Revenue Specialist position with the Revenue Division of the Finance Department.This position performs work involving customer service, billing, and collection for utility and property tax collections and other services. Sample duties include: receiving and processing payments; posting to and reconciling accounts; balancing daily receipts and preparing bank deposits; researching and pursuing delinquent accounts for payment; preparing and mailing property tax, refuse collection, water/wastewater, self-pay insurance, and other bills to residents and customers; researching account data; assisting customers; maintaining records and files; and preparing reports.
Salary range is $24.29 - $31.61 per hour with a benefits package. Hiring rate will be dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Candidates are required to have any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree with major course work in accounting or a related field and considerable customer service experience involving the collection of and accounting for various revenue sources. Preferred candidate will have a background check completed.
Possession of or ability to acquire certification as a Connecticut Municipal Collector within three years of appointment is required
