DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF-FIRE MARSHAL-EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR TOWN OF MANSFIELD Great career opportunity! The Town of Mansfield is seeking a full-time Deputy Fire Chief-Fire Marshal-Emergency Management Director for its Fire and Emergency Services Department. This position serves as the Fire Prevention Division Head,planning, organizing, and directing the work of the Division. Sample duties include: planning, organizing and directing fire prevention and emergency management activities; supervising and leading staff; ensuring that all fire safety codes, regulations and procedures are followed; conducting inspections, fire and explosion investigations, and plan review as they relate to the Fire and Life Safety Codes. This position assists the Fire Chief in department-wide administrative matters as assigned. As the Emergency Management Director, responsibilities include developing and overseeing emergency plans, coordinating emergency operations during disasters and major incidents, and grants management. The salary range is $72,879-$94,748 per year, with a competitive benefits package. Hiring rate will depend on qualifications and experience. Position requires some evening and weekend work. The preferred candidate will be subject to a background check. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, customer service, and problem solving skills. Candidates should have an associate's degree in fire science or related field supplemented by extensive supervisory, fire prevention, code enforcement, fire and explosion investigation and emergency management experience. Required certifications include: State of CT Fire Marshal or Deputy Fire Marshal; driver's license; (National Incident Management System) Certifications 100, 200, 700. Preferred certifications include: Advanced Fire Investigation; Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, and Hazardous Materials Technician; NIMS (National Incident Management System) Certifications 300, 400, 800.
