Location: Waterbury, CT

Job Description: Full time commercial Roofing Estimator for day-to-day office management & estimating of commercial roofing projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Organize bid documents.
  • Determine ideal strategy for bidding.
  • Solicit potential roofing contractors, prepare RFP’s and create complete roofing contractor bidding lists.
  • Track and follow up with roofing contractors to ensure all documentation is submitted on time and in a neat, organized manner.
  • Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand project scope.
  • Create detailed quantity take offs.
  • Clarify bid documents and prepare RFI’s to submit to architects; Follow up with both architects and roofing contractors to relay the information as quickly as possible.
  • Coordinate and prepare project bids and proposals for submittal to the Building Owner or Building Owner's Representative.
  • Negotiate and create contractor/vendor contracts & material purchase orders based on bid qualification.
  • Effectively document and manage change orders.
  • Prepare project closeout packages.

Requirements: Bachelors or Associates Degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management, architectural design, or other related discipline.2 years minimum of overall experience in commercial construction estimating with specific experience in commercial roofing estimating, not residential. Excellent work ethic, writing, math and computer skills. Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, design professionals, and building owners.

Qualifications: Excellent familiarity with “The Edge” software, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD helpful.
