WFC Project REACH is seeking a passionate, energetic, caring teacher to provide academic assistance to Meriden High School Seniors enrolled in WFC’s In-School Empowerment (RISE) program.  RISE will provide essential tools needed to achieve their individual educational goals. RISE includes: after school tutoring, academic coaching, skill development, empowerment workshops, leadership opportunities, and job externship.

Position Description

Provide individual and small group tutoring to students at local High Schools in Meriden. Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. Other assistance might include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, formulating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems.

  • Classes held @ local High schools (Platt, Maloney, Venture)
  • Classes are 3 days per week for one hour after school
  • Core subjects
  • Earn $30 per hour

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Education is required
  • Additional experience in working with youth
