PeopleSoft HCM Trainer (Training/Development Specialist - UCP 6)

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Payroll Department, the PeopleSoft HCM Trainer will coordinate, provide, and enhance classroom and virtual training to the University’s PeopleSoft HCM users, specifically those utilizing Core-CT. As part of the Payroll Department, the PeopleSoft HCM Trainer will work with the Payroll Department and the Department of Human Resources to develop and coordinate training programs for the University community related to HR/Payroll business processes. The Trainer will be expected to demonstrate extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM and be responsible for the development of business process and system documentation, including training materials, simulations, and large scale training programs.  The PeopleSoft HCM Trainer will work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating their activities with other team members and subject matter experts.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  The full job description can be found at www.payroll.uconn.edu.


Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and three years’ experience in training and development OR a Bachelor's degree and four years' experience and/or prior experience as a computer applications trainer; 3-5 years of application training experience; 3-5 years’ classroom training experience on adult level courses; thorough knowledge of principles and practices of training and development methods and techniques; considerable knowledge in methods to identify training needs, reporting and evaluating results of needs assessments, and analyzing performance problems; considerable ability to identify training needs and plan, organize and coordinate training programs to meet those needs; knowledge of HR and Payroll business functions; experience with PeopleSoft HCM, or other similar enterprise application; ability to prepare both routine and analytical reports; and excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in Higher Education; experience with Captivate, UPK or other similar software; experience with web conferencing software; expertise in operation of audiovisual and electronic equipment; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
