Outside Sales / Sales Engineer /Sales Representative

Scales Industrial Technologies Inc., an Employee Owned Company, and a leader in the compressed air industry for more than 45 years is looking to hire career minded individuals for positions in industrial field sales in Connecticut.  Outside sales experience is a plus but not a necessity.  The successful candidate will be an energetic self- starter that has good mechanical skills, possesses the desire to succeed, and has the math, writing, and interpersonal skills required to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities:

• This Outside Sales person is responsible for developing new accounts and expanding relationships with existing accounts.
• Identify and develop opportunities for business with manufacturing plants, industrial end users, consulting engineers, and mechanicals. 
• Create technical quotations and proposals for equipment sales. 
• Follow up on sales leads and solicit new customers via direct visits and telephone contact so as to generate new customers for our equipment sales, service and parts businesses.
• Provide management with reports on market opportunities, sales results, customers, contracts, competitive trends, etc.
• Maintain a database of customers and prospects, weekly sales calls, and proposals.

Essential criteria:

• Excellent sales experience, a proven ability to learn.  
• Mechanically inclined or a background in engineering, mechanical or industrial systems.  Knowledge of compressed air systems, process cooling systems, or NFPA medical systems is a plus. 
• Must possess good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Qualified candidates must be energetic, organized, motivated and have good math, oral, written and interpersonal skills, be capable of learning and working independently, and exhibit common sense and good judgment.

Extensive training in our products and services will be provided.  Various sales territories are also available in our other locations throughout the Northeast.
