Savings Institute Bank & Trust Company has an immediate opening for a Senior Mortgage Underwriter in its Retail Lending Department, located in Willimantic, CT. Responsibilities include: Analyze data and form a complete, documented package that verifies the applicant's and property's conformance to applicable investor/insurer guidelines. Accomplish objectives within a timeframe that meets Company underwriting goals. Make advanced underwriting and decision making of Residential conforming, non-conforming and government loans. Assist with training and development of Jr. Underwriting staff and review and development of underwriting standards and procedures. Complete complex tax return analysis and help facilitate set up and testing of loan origination software technology. Successful candidate must have a Minimum three years' experience in mortgage banking or related experience, or some comparable combination of education and experience. FHA Direct Endorsement required. Must have government underwriting experience (VA, RD, FHA, CHFA programs) Ability to operate personal computer, including Windows, E-mail, various word processing applications, HUD clips (Internet) and FHA Connection (Internet) & other investor websites. Familiarity with Automated Underwriting and LOS. Knowledge of regulatory compliance for mortgage lending and secondary market knowledge.
