Senior Engineering Technician

Dymax Corporation, a leader in the Acrylic Adhesive and UV Curing Industry, is seeking a highly motivated, team orientated individual to join our R&D department as a Senior Engineering Technician.

We currently have an opening for a Senior Engineering Technician, who will assist and support product development engineering with electro-mechanical prototyping and testing of new and existing Dymax cure, dispense and filling equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and use test fixtures and equipment to support product development
  • Assemble prototype electronic or electro-mechanical devices or modules
  • Conduct experiments with mechanical, electrical and pneumatic prototypes to validate new design, inclusive of PLC controls
  • Measure and collect data, transferring information into a professional report.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical CAD drawings for fabrication of proof of concept prototypes components and assemblies or troubleshooting component design.
  • Source parts and contact vendors/suppliers for test equipment, components and prototype needs.
  • Assist Quality and Calibration departments with instrumentation calibration, equipment repair, or component prints reviews as necessary.
  • Take specific direction from engineers, project managers and the engineering manager.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS:

  • Associates degree (A.E., A.S., or A.A.) or higher in engineering or a physical science from an accredited college
  • 5 years minimum of position-related industry experience, inclusive of:
  • Assembly of electrical cabling and electrical circuits
  • Soldering and de-soldering surface mount and thru-hole components
  • Ability to perform some metal fabrication using machine and hand tools such as drill press or sheet-metal brake.
  • Work from electrical or mechanical drawings, procedures and operation sheets to perform intricate assembly and alignment of mechanical components
  • PLC knowledge required
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multi-meters and other electronic test equipment
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for report generation, and navigation of electronic filing systems and web-based research.
  • Ability to follow a written procedure, with attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks in an accurate manner
  • Demonstrated understanding of electro-mechanical systems required, and pneumatics a plus
