 Clinical Coordinator RN

for expanding Multi-specialty Outpatient Surgery Center

 

We are presently recruiting for a full-time Clinical Coordinator RN for our multi-specialty (ophthalmology, pain management, occuloplastics, gastroenterology and incoming ENT) outpatient surgery center. The incoming RN Clinical Coordinator must have leadership experience, OR/surgical and Pediatric experience as well as a true desire to work with our excellent team of clinical and administrative staff members.  The Clinical Coordinator must also be a graduate of an accredited Nursing School with an active CT license. Clinical Coordinators are primarily responsible for facilitating and overseeing quality patient care. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the nursing staff and delegating nursing assignments and performing a variety of routine clinical tasks to assist physicians and other health practitioners.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Provides direct patient care and works as a team member to promote the highest standards of evidence based practices.
  • Direct and support staff as appropriate in the provision of patient care.
  • Assign and coordinates patient care and related duties.
  • Provide training to the clinical staff, when necessary.
  • Assist in safeguarding the welfare and safety of patients and other staff by enforcing Wilton Surgery Center’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Triage patients as necessary via telephone or in person.
  • Assist and communicate with physicians and other health practitioners as needed.
  • Responsible for assigning nursing staff to providers to ensure support for their daily surgical schedule.
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining, and monitoring quality assurance logs and equipment.
  • Work closely with Director of Nursing to maintain and monitor compliance with the Department of Public Health requirements and AAAHC standard of care including other regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure operational efficiency throughout the surgical continuum.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with BSN
  • CT License
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certified or equivalent
  • AORN certfication preferred
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience

 Additional General Requirements:

  • Commitment to the maintenance of patient privacy
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practice and medical care to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, experience with data entry
