ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES SPECIALIST II (UCP 4)

Planning, Architectural and Engineering Services University of Connecticut. Working under general supervision, the Administrative Services Specialist supports multiple directors in the Planning, Architectural and Engineering Services (PAES) department with responsibility to provide assistance in carrying out and coordinating specialized administrative functions and departmental services requiring independent judgment and initiative and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment, requiring an advanced level of office management accountability, problem-solving, and a thorough understanding of an organization's operation. Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have an Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have at least three to five (3 to 5) years' experience in a responsible related support position which demonstrates knowledge of administrative methods and program specialty; considerable knowledge of office administration and management; demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office platform programs including the ability to develop spreadsheets, schedules and presentations; strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population; ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple assignments efficiently and effectively, work independently with minimum supervision; candidate must also have excellent organizational skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple initiatives concurrently and independently resolve problems. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with detailed work systems; experience in a multi-faceted department and fast-paced environment; demonstrated experience working in large complex environments; experience developing and managing multifaceted databases and complex spreadsheets.
