Administrative Assistant to the First
Selectman

The Town of Chaplin is seeking applications for the position of Administrative Assistant to the First Selectman. This professional position requires highly responsible and confidential secretarial and administrative support services performed directly for the First Selectman. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and initiative based on general knowledge of the Town's administrative policies and procedures.
 
High School Diploma or the equivalent, supplemented by coursework in Business Administration and two (2) years general office experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides a demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of this position. Must have knowledge of secretarial principles and practices including knowledge of clerical accounting procedures and techniques.

Excellent computer skills required, including comprehensive knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Approximately 30 hour work week, which includes some evening meetings. Benefit package includes vacation, sick time, 457 Plan and medical insurance. Pay range is $28,000 to $35,000, commensurate with experience.
