Dymax Corporation, a leader in the Acrylic Adhesive and UV Curing Industry, is seeking a highly motivated, team orientated individual for the internship opportunity of Quality Engineering Summer Student.

POSITION SUMMARY:   We are looking for quality engineering interns who possess strong problem solving skills, technical aptitude, communication and interpersonal skills and strong desire to learn from experienced engineering staff.  This rewarding quality engineering  internship will provide the intern with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a growing manufacturing facility, perform analytical measurements to assess quality performance of incoming raw materials and finished products, learn and apply Lean Six Sigma tools to solve commercial scale manufacturing process and quality issues, creating and updating documentation including procedures and work instructions, understand how to approach projects from definition to closeout, gain experience in supporting quality improvement projects, and gain valuable communication skills through presenting results to senior management and quality engineering and manufacturing engineering leaders. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform required Quality Control measurements on finished products and incoming raw materials.
• Learning and applying Lean Six Sigma tools to support the improvement of Oligomers and Coating quality and manufacturing process performance.
• Creating or updating standardized work procedures and work instructions.
•  This position requires effective communication with senior management, manufacturing engineering, production and quality engineering departments at Dymax Oligomers and Coatings Division.
• Must be organized and be able to develop and execute on project plans and communicate progress on projects.
• Support data collection, data entry, data organization and reduction and data analysis activities as requested by Quality Engineering staff.
• Will be required to present a PowerPoint presentation to quality engineering and senior management at the conclusion of project.

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

• Working towards a 4 year degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Strong Problem Solving Skills and Technical Aptitude
• Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills.
• Strong Desire to Learn from Experienced Engineering Staff.
• Organized and able to develop and execute on project plans and communicate progress on projects.
