Job Description:
Position Summary:
The incumbent in this position has responsibility for managing the decision support staff to ensure Decision Support Systems and Business Intelligence Systems are built to meet the information needs of the business leaders and various business units. Works closely with key business leaders to define critical information needs, providing guidance regarding availability of data, capability of systems to deliver information needs, and subject matter expertise regarding current systems and emerging technologies. Provides day-to-day direction to a multi-functional staff based on communicated business priorities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
* Facilitates the creation and measurement of performance metrics to objectively measuring the performance of areas of responsibility.
* Establishes goals and objectives for areas of responsibility that are in alignment with department, division and corporate strategic objectives and develops action plans to attain these goals and objectives.
* Ensures that functional area under their direct control is staffed and trained appropriately to meet department and business needs.
* Ensures proper manual or automated controls are in place to safeguard information and financial assets.
* Evaluates areas of responsibility for continuous improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to IS Executives.
* Supervises the daily activities of employees, provides performance feedback both formally and informally, enforce policies and procedures and communicate effectively.
* Maintains an appropriate technical level in order to perform appropriate quality reviews of the organization for which they are responsible.
* Establishes quality standard for their organization's services and deliverables. Performs periodic quality control checks to ensure organization is meeting or exceeding standards.
* Works with business and senior IT leadership to identify information requirements, develop and implement data warehouse strategies.
* Provides resources for data warehouse projects or work requests along with other relevant projects by aiding in the design, development and implementation of data warehouses solutions.
* Responsible for the configuration and auditing of the data warehouse environment to ensure quality control of data.
* Responsible for overseeing the development, operations and maintenance of the data warehouse environment.
* Responsible for processes and administration of the ETL (Extract, Transformation and loading) tools.
* Provides data architectural recommendations to direct supervisor and CIO.
* Conducts code and design reviews for Data Analysis staff members.
* Plans operational and capital spending for data management and business intelligence projects.
* Responsible for the COGNOS reporting tools and other enterprise level reporting tools.
* Communicates the benefits of Business Intelligence to the executives, users and enterprise customers.
* Provides recommendations to Director or CIO on applications that should be acquired, replaced, retired or consolidated in order to reduce the application portfolio's Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and improve IS agility or reduce complexity of environment
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Promotes superior customer service.
* Must be able to support applications that are running in a 7x24x365 enterprise environment.
* Maintains accurate time reports for his or her activity according to Mohegan Sun Information Systems policies
* Will be required to carry a pager or a cell phone and be on call.
* Maintains accurate and complete hard-copy and electronic employee files in accordance with Mohegan Sun Policies.
* Reviews and approves time reports for his or her direct reports.
* Develops and maintains policies and procedures as required by HIPPA and other appropriate regulatory requirements.
* Serves as a coach and mentor to direct reports and staff members.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, and six years of progressive Information Systems experience.
* Two years of experience as a senior Business Intelligence role (e.g. Business Intelligence Architect) or Business Intelligence Manager in a large organization (5,000+employees).
* Demonstrated knowledge of process and data modeling along with data architectural methodology best practices.
* Obtain and maintain at least one or more applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions.

* Associates degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, and ten years of progressive Information Systems experience.
* Two years of experience as a senior Business Intelligence role (e.g. Business Intelligence Architect) or Business Intelligence Manager in a large organization (5,000+employees).
* Demonstrated knowledge of process and data modeling along with data architectural methodology best practices.
* Obtain and maintain at least one or more applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
